Summer Challenge Series

HGBA Summer Shooting and Dribbling Challenge

The Hopkins Girls Basketball Association (HGBA) Summer Shooting and Dribbling Challenge will begin this year on Monday, June 12th.  Good players get better in the off-season and the summer months are a great time to work on your game!  

The HGBA Summer Shooting and Dribbling Challenge is FREE and open to all players who intend to play for HGBA in 2023-2024 (girls going into grades 3rd-8th).   We hope our athletes will all accept the challenge and put in the work to improve this summer!

Challenge Details:

Dates: Monday, June 12 - Sunday, Sept. 9th
Who: HGBA Girls Players in Grades 3-8th (2023-2024 school year)


The Challenges

10,000 Shot Club: those who take 10,000 or more shots over the summer months

New This Year!
5,000 Shot Club: those who take 5,000-9,999 shots over the summer months

1,000 Dribble Club: those who practice dribbling/ball-handling more than 1,000 minutes over the summer months.  

Challenge Incentives: Every girl who completes the challenges will be recognized on the court at a Hopkins High School Girls basketball game and be entered into drawings for great prizes.  

These challenges are meant to encourage girls to shoot and dribble throughout the summer in addition to any camps they will attend.  

Breakfast Club Attendance: 300 shots for each day of attendance at Breakfast Club (5th grade +)

Challenge Resources

Shooting Drills:
The HGBA website has several different shooting drills for you to choose from.  Be sure to follow us on social media throughout the summer as we will also provide workout ideas there! 

Ball-handling and Dribbling:
Ball-handling and dribbling are key components to the game.  Practicing just 5-10 minutes a day can make a difference.  We will post challenges on our social media accounts- don't forget to check them out!
